Carter Dredge

Carter Dredge is a global healthcare thought leader and transformationalist, and currently serves as the executive director of the Intermountain Health Institute, where he partners with some of the world’s top thinkers and doers to create novel solutions to complex problems and develop trusted and effective leaders.
Prior to his current role as a senior executive at Intermountain Health, Dr. Dredge served at SSM Health as senior vice president and lead futurist and as chief strategy & transformation officer, overseeing strategy, innovation, mergers & acquisitions, research and development, analytics, and business development.
Dr. Dredge has been recognized by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the “Top 25 Innovators” in the United States and was the first American ever accepted into the business doctorate program at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom—a program specifically designed for executives who had built or who currently lead major corporations.
Dr. Dredge has served and continues to serve on numerous boards of healthcare services organizations, insurance companies, and start-ups (several of which he co-founded)—and he loves the challenge of creating new businesses—particularly those focused on serving those most in need.
He is deeply committed to venture-philanthropic innovation, education, and leadership development, and is a Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management/corporate finance from Brigham Young University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from Cornell University, and a Business Doctorate from the University of Cambridge where he also is a Fellow at Judge Business School.
Scott Barlow

Scott Barlow is Executive Director of the One Utah Health Collaborative, where he leads statewide efforts to improve healthcare affordability, quality, and transparency.
With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership, Barlow previously served as CEO of Revere Health, growing it into one of the largest independent physician groups in the western United States. He is a recognized leader in value-based care and has played a key role in advancing innovative, patient-centered healthcare models.
Barlow holds degrees in accounting and healthcare administration and is known for his collaborative approach to transforming healthcare systems.
Jacque Durfey

Jacque Durfey serves as Chief Executive Officer at Revere Health. In this role, she works to optimize clinic processes and support staff who directly facilitate patient care. Jacque has a deep appreciation for the work of physicians, advanced practice providers, and care teams, and is committed to upholding Revere Health’s mission to deliver high-quality care in all the communities it serves.
Jacque has been in the healthcare industry for more than 30 years, primarily in group practice management. Jacque holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and earned her Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University. Her leadership is grounded in a passion for healthcare, and she appreciates the opportunity to serve and support individuals on their health journeys.
Outside of work, Jacque enjoys spending time with her husband and family. A lover of the outdoors and an avid baseball fan, she also enjoys traveling and making memories wherever life takes her.

J. Phil Harrop, PhD, FACHE, is an accomplished healthcare executive currently serving as Chief Executive at INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center & Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Hospital. They have previously held significant leadership roles including Interim Regional COO at MercyOne and System COO at Ascension Via Christi, demonstrating a strong track record in revitalizing hospitals and optimizing financial performance. J. Phil's extensive educational background includes multiple advanced degrees from The Ohio State University and Brigham Young University, underscoring their expertise in health services management and business administration. With a focus on organizational transformation and patient satisfaction, J. Phil excels at balancing care delivery with financial sustainability.

As Advanced Customer Engagement Director, Kate excels in enterprise customer engagement, change management, and strategic partnership development, leveraging data-driven insights to deliver measurable results. A committed mentor and advocate for diversity in leadership, she also contributes her expertise to advisory boards and industry pilots and holds an MBA from Colorado State University. Kate’s collaborative approach, innovative mindset, and dedication to excellence distinguish her as a transformative leader in the healthcare industry.
Gordon Harkness, MD
Medical Director

Gordon W. Harkness, MD is a Medical Director for OptumCare Utah, where he focuses on educating clinicians on Medicare diagnosis documentation and coding, Medicare quality metrics, and patient experience. He brings nearly two decades of frontline clinical experience, having practiced Family Medicine in Provo, Utah for 18 years with Intermountain Medical Group.
During his tenure at Intermountain, Dr. Harkness held multiple physician leadership roles, including Region Medical Director, Family Medicine Service Line Associate Medical Director, and Medical Group Board Member. His background combines clinical practice, physician education, and medical group leadership, with a strong emphasis on supporting high-quality, value-based care.
Outside of work, Dr. Harkness enjoys spending time with his wife and their seven children.
Christopher Valentine

OptumCare Utah
Christopher Valentine is the Medical Director at Optum Care Utah, a position held since 2020, where he leads efforts to improve healthcare quality and efficiency. Prior to this role, Valentine served as a Family Physician at Steward Health Care from 2012 to 2020 and held various medical director positions, including at Health Choice Utah and Heartwood Home Health & Hospice. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, completing his studies in 2000.
Jeff Thompson

BYU Sorensen Center for Moral and Ethical Leadership
Jeff’s calling in life is to assist people in discovering and pursuing their own sense of calling, living Christ-centered lives of integrity and authenticity in service to others. His experience working in a corporation attuned him to the importance of creating ethical organizations that allow people to express their values and serve using their best gifts. Jeff’s passion for that topic led him to earn an MBA from BYU in 1999, and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of Minnesota in 2003. He has loved being a professor in the BYU MPA Program for over 20 years now, and is thrilled to have the honor to lead the effort to launch the new Sorensen Center for Moral and Ethical Leadership, beginning in 2021.
Jeff grew up in Boise, Idaho, and has lived in several Midwestern states, including Ohio for four years, where he taught at Miami University. He and his wife, Aimee, have four children, ages 29 to 19, and three young grandchildren that are their greatest pride. He enjoys racquetball, literature, history, genealogy, and performs pretty regularly in musical theatre.
